Floyd Healthcare Foundation works in collaboration with Northwest Georgia Public Health and the Youth Asset Development Committee to provide tobacco prevention initiatives to youth in Rome and Floyd County.
One of these initiatives is National "Kick Butts" Day sponsored by the Floyd Healthcare Foundation. This anti-tobacco program educates the public on the dangers of tobacco products. Poster contests are held in area schools to promote the "Kick Butts" awareness among youth.
Additional anti-tobacco programs include The Tar Wars program. This program brings physicians and nurses to local schools to teach children about the dangers of tobacco use.
Youth in CHARGe is another program. This program involves
a statewide network of youth who team up in schools and community-based organizations to work on tobacco use prevention.
